President's Challenges

President Neil Rowbotham

1       To encourage everyone to be involved in Club activities and build team work and to provide regular fellowship opportunities

a       Here I am going to rely on the wonderful array of Team Leaders who I know will challenge you in new ways and I ask you to respond as positively as you can.

b       We need to think about how we might work together in new ways to raise money but I want us to concentrate on working on our fellowship.

2       To develop our communications – intra-club and inter-clubs and District

a       I have asked Garner to lead us on this because I know how well he will do it in a variety of established and novel ways.

3       To celebrate 25 years in a tangible fashion

a       I would recommend to the Club an idea that I have been working on – the provision of a natural play area just off the SSSI that is Beacon Hill Country Park.  This will involve expenditure but it will also involve us as a Club working together in a way that is as similarly creative as the Hospital Garden work.

4       To encourage the club to support local charities.  I would particularly commend the Alzheimer’s Society

5       To encourage the club to be supportive of RI initiatives around the world.

a       I hope that Robert will help us to think more carefully about our role in Rotary International’s broader canvas

6       To improve relationships with other Rotary Clubs and Inner Wheel

a       We are already planning a joint effort with Inner Wheel and we will continue organising joint meetings with Loughborough and Soar Valley RCs.

7       To raise the profile of Rotary in the town and develop our PR skills.

a       Linked to 3, but also involving the possibility of a Rotary Week in town.

8       To increase membership

9       To develop long-range goals for the following 3 years

10     To introduce succession planning for Officers

11     To develop new talent
